bebe stores, inc. December Same Store Sales Increase of 12.2 Percent
December Quarter Represents Thirteenth Consecutive Quarter of Double-Digit Same Store Sales Growth
BRISBANE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2000--bebe stores, inc. (Nasdaq: BEBE) today reported retail sales of $35.0 million for the month ended Dec. 31, 1999, an increase of 33.1% over sales of $26.3 million for the month ended Dec. 31, 1998.
Same store sales for December increased 12.2% over the comparable period of fiscal 1999. Prior years' same store sales increases were 29.5% for December 1998 and 41.6% for December 1997.
For the quarter ended Dec. 31, 1999, comparable store sales increased 10.1% which represents the thirteenth consecutive quarter that bebe has generated double-digit same store sales growth.
Retail sales for the six months ended Dec. 31, 1999 were $134.2 million compared to the $101.0 million for the same period last year, an increase of 32.9%. Comparable store sales for the six months ended Dec. 31, 1999 increased 11.0% compared to the corresponding period of the prior year.
