Interliant Acquires The Jacobson Group; Addition Extends Interliant's
Leadership in the ASP Market For Lotus Notes / Domino Solutions

PURCHASE, N.Y., Jan 6, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Interliant, Inc.
(NASDAQ:INIT), a leading application service provider (ASP), today
announced it has acquired The Jacobson Group, Inc. (TJG), a
professional services firm that specializes in developing and
implementing sophisticated groupware and distributed learning solutions
using Lotus Notes and Domino. With more than 30 million users
worldwide, Lotus Notes and Domino is the industry's leading groupware
platform. The acquisition of TJG extends Interliant's existing range of
IT talent and experience in the Lotus Notes/Domino market and provides
companies with a single source for Lotus Notes/Domino solutions, from
application development and customization to hosting and ongoing
support.

"We have a significant number of customers that have standardized on
Lotus Notes/Domino as the platform on which they run their Web-based
applications," said Jim Lidestri, president of Interliant, Inc.
"Usually, these applications are part of their overall e-business
strategy, which means they need to be scalable, available and secure.
By adding TJG to our Consulting and Professional Services group, we are
providing our customers the highest level of knowledge and expertise in
the Lotus Notes/Domino arena and assuring our customers the greatest
business return from their investment."

The Jacobson Group has a wide range of customers, from Fortune 500
companies to small start-up firms. For IBM's Management Development

collaborative groupware applications for use throughout IBM. Other
Management Development projects include modifying Lotus' LearningSpace

configurable Domino Web sites to disseminate educational content. For

databases for large account sales teams and is currently teaching team
members how to use these collaborative tools to increase sales to key
customer accounts. Additional clients include SOFTBANK and a number of
other venture capital firms who use TJG solutions to track and evaluate
new investment opportunities.

"Since 1992, our goal has been to help our clients use Lotus Notes to
transform their businesses -- to unleash the power of collaborative
teamwork, to connect with customers, and to manage information-rich
processes effectively," said Patty Jacobson, co-founder of The Jacobson
Group. "Rapid development and fast implementation lead to success in
the marketplace. We are looking forward to being a part of Interliant
and using its ASP infrastructure to help us do this even better."

The Jacobson Group now becomes part of Interliant's growing services

Inc., Colgate Palmolive, Cognos and Swiss Life, as well as a number of
organizations in the education, technology and publishing markets.

The Jacobson Group is known for its expertise in supporting and
modifying LearningSpace, Lotus' distributed learning solution. Along
with custom solutions for distributed learning, TJG provides its
customers with a set of extensions to LearningSpace to manage
