The calumniation that African- American Republicans must endure is horrendous. It takes particular strength of character to assume a high visibility position as a black person. J.C. Watts has been a graceful and articulate spokesman for Republicans, conservatives, and African- Americans, and is one of those who comes to mind when I defend public service as an honorable profession. I hope that he continues his ascent in the party........
