The article just implies that we spent too much on Y2k remediation, IMO. Because Eastern Europe didn't spend much and is not reporting Y2k problems. Of course, I doubt they would report any problems that could possibly help reporting.

I still think it's too early to say that Y2k was a non-event. Lots of quiet garbage can get written to databases without crashing the program. Let's at least wait until every company in the world has gone through its January billing cycle...
