This is a good acquisition! 8 megabits/second over twisted copper wire............allowing multi-media applications and communications all over EXISTING twisted pair copper. Voice, Data, Multi-Media all over existing phone line is the Last Mile HOLY GRAIL that everyone has been waiting for to truely revolutionize and make the promise of combining Communication and Entertainment. Look out Cable! Also, in the rest of the world, Cable has NOWHERE the penetration of phone lines so this modem becomes even more significant for foreign PTT's and ISP's to jump over the Last Mile bandwidth problem. Smart acquisition and one that solidify NT's position as fully integrated vendor of First Mile-Backbone-Last Mile infrastructure solutions TODAY not in year 2050! I just hope that the Promatory product is the leading-edge product in this field so that NT will have a clear lead in this market for the forseeable future. Any opinions on competing products in this high speed DSL modem field?
