JAKKS Pacific Inc. Added to S&P SmallCap 600 Index MALIBU, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2000--JAKKS Pacific Inc. (Nasdaq:JAKK - news) today announced that it will be added to the Standard & Poor's SmallCap 600 Index after the close of trading on Jan. 7, 2000.
The S&P SmallCap 600 Index is a market-value weighted index and consists of 600 domestic stocks chosen on the basis of market capitalization, liquidity and industry group representation. In adding a stock to the index, S&P closely analyzes the financial and operating condition of the company, with the goal of finding stable businesses that will keep turnover in the index low.
A candidate for addition to the index cannot be closely held, and it must demonstrate trading volume in its stock sufficient to ensure ample liquidity and efficient share pricing.
