The speed that traders have in entering orders can be explained on several levels: one, in keyboard dexterity, which is a function of experience and talent (I guess); in addition, different software platforms have features permitting fast order routing, hot keys for automatic loading of issue/size/type of order, etc. I don't know anything about Preferred Trade; are you sure that "Auto-Routing" is, in fact, a direct access system?
