Brian, I said I had 6 versions of the Bible in my home. They have many more differences than those you so snidely referred to. I will quote scripture when ever it is felt that they are necessary, not at your command. You can not seem to understand that nothing Greek holds any importance to me, including the translation of their language referring to the Bible. The Greeks even got the name of out Lord wrong. Jesus is a Greek word, and is truly respected today because of the man, and not His name, but His Hebrew name was different. I think I read that is was something like Jeshuah.
In the archaic language you seem to prefer, "elect" did mean selected or chosen but, in the language of today, it means, according to Webster, "To select by vote for office or membership.",or " elected but not yet installed." If you want to remain a relic from the past, that is your privilege but, do not ask me to participate in such a pretension.--haqi |
