*AV*--I am, watching ALTR and agree with your assessment of it being buyable. This stock is known for its slow but sure bouts of volatility. What I like the most about it is that ALTR is an "institutional" stock that comes in and out of favor. Now that we are seeing decent comments about the IC industry, we might emphasize that sector more. The equipment companies got their haircut but the IC guys should still be coming into their own. ALTR is a core stock in this arena.

The copper news is great for the long term. Bottom line: with their foundry relationships, they are poised for the next few technology shifts that occur and can concentrate on designing advanced chips, knowing full well they have a great possibility of getting these devices into production.

Usually manufacturing capability lags behind the desired design device technology. In this case, there seems to be a great roadmap to success. ALTR designers can probably beat the SIA Roadmap (like the story states) and implement advanced designs more rapidly than their peers. It once thing to have an idea and another thing to be able to implement. ALTR appears to be in a driver's seat here.
