Hardly, Bill. I'm not an actuary, but I feel very confident that my parents generation did not pay into the SS system as they are drawing. And that's the problem, the system is "actuarily unsound". People are living well beyond the years that the original plan envisioned. It was never meant to be fully funded by the "contributions" of the recipient. The Democrat controlled congress continue to expand benefits (even LOWERING) the age for qualification without considering the devastating effects it would eventually have on the economic well being of our kids.

I, for one, don't want to live in the lap of luxury off the sweat of my children and grandchildren. I would gladly give up any benefits if it meant a MEANINGFUL reduction in payroll taxes. What kind of sick society puts their kids in a position that they have little or no chance of having a better standard of living than their parents?
