Unfortunately my memory is such that I retain about 1/1000th of what I read, see or hear :) on a good day.

Well, you're doing better than I am. Though if "Highway 61" was cited as a groundbreaking album, and "Beggar's Banquet" got top billing over "Exile on Main Street", it might be worth my figuring out how to pay for access to an archived article. By any chance, was there any mention of "Astral Weeks"? Or, for that matter, a truly revolutionary album -"Only the Lonely"?
