Lucent news shouldn't hurt Jabil...

... but it likely will.

Lucent is a new customer and has been ramping lately. Lucent says they missed due to a shortage of manufacturing capability and changing customer plans (read 'product transitions'). So the long term impact is actually favorable, since these are factors that drive outsourcing.

But after hours, Lucent was down about 20 points to as low as 50, and Cisco and Nortel were down in sympathy. Since these are two major customers for Jabil, I fear we will be hit tomorrow.

Longer term, looks like Jabil is priced cheaply compared to others in the sector. I will likely be a buyer tomorrow.
