That's the way I am reading it too. I bet this isn't just a one quarter set back, it's more like a 6 month set back during which Lucent will struggle to get their credibility back. What a blow. I knew we would see something like this eventually, but what surprised me is twofold: 1) I didn't think we'd see it this soon and 2) I didn't think Lucent's own management would be the cause of the screw up, I thought it would be Nortel or Cisco taking market share away from them.

The fact that it was Lucent's management's fault tells me that Lucent has a long term problem. They have all the tools for success, but without great leadership, they are doomed to mediocrity. The only thing that will keep pulling management's but out of the fire will be good old Bell Labs.

Like I have said before, if you have extra money, forget Lucent, put your money in Nortel or Cisco. If we see $95 tomorrow, I'll buy some more Cisco. Good luck everyone!
