RSC, the (short) take from dayton business news:

<<Rex Stores holiday sales up 6 percent to $113.5 million
Higher-margin products, such as the DVD player, boosted Rex Stores Corp.'s holiday season sales. The Dayton-based consumer electronics and appliance retailer reported for November and December total sales of $113 million, a 6 percent increase from the same period in 1998. The company's comparable stores sale rose 1 percent over the same period last year. Sales of large-screen TV sales rose 37 percent and DVD player sales rose 676 percent. "Those gains, however, were partially offset by lower retail prices and unit sales for some traditional analog products," said Stuart Rose, Rex chairman and chief executive officer.>>
