After CEO of Lucent was on CNBC they quoted some analyst that indicated that the peculiar problem of Lucent, skipping OC192 and going straight to WDM would also affect Alcatel more than other telecom equipment providers. The suggestion is that Alcatel tried to do the same thing while Nortel just went to OC 192 and isn't as strong in WDM. Anybody know if this is true of Alcatel?
