Salting of Bre-x samples would have had to happen at the site, and would have had to involve over 48,000 bags of crushed rock samples. It would have to have been expertly done, because they would need to have added placer gold only to samples of barren rock, and not samples of legitamate ore. Very few of the samples contained any visible gold, so my feeling is that it would have been extremely difficult to do this, but not impossible. Remember that one cannot always predict the presence of ore by examining the geological nature of the cores/samples. If the gold really is in the Busang, I have no way of estimating quantities, but my gut says they may have 25 to 40 million ounces. As well, my gut says that Bre-x may lose ownership completely due to the embarassment this whole mess has caused the government. This is why I am buying Minorca. Check their thread. As for Canuc, and most other juniors, I think that most of the Bre-x margin calls have been flushed away, however there may be more if it falls to zero. If the Busang proves a sham, I think that, for the most part, the market has discounted this, but there will be a temporary panic effect which could drive Canuc below $1.00, but only for a week or so. Regards.
