Mitec Telecom Inc. has secured an initial $1.25 million order from Ericsson to supply 800-Mhz CDMA IS95 BTS micro base stations for supply to China.

Toronto, Ontario, Jan. 07, 2000 (Market News Publishing via COMTEX) -- Mitec Telecom Inc. has secured an initial $1.25 million order
from Ericsson to supply 800-Mhz CDMA IS95 BTS micro base stations for supply to China. Deliveries will commence in the fourth
quarter and continue through the first half of next year.

Mitec has also received a development contract from Lucent Technologies to supply (third-generation) 3G WCDMA dual duplexer LNA
filters for base station applications. This will be for the European market.

"These orders reinforce Mitec's position as a global supplier to original equipment manufacturers," said Myer Bentob, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. "China is the beginning of something with tremendous market potential. These contracts support our R&D strategy to
invest in technology for continued growth."

Mitec Telecom Inc. designs and manufactures components, subsystems and multifunction subsystems for the wireless telecommunications
industry. The Company sells its products worldwide, primarily to original equipment manufacturers for incorporation into wireless
