Saw this exciting bit of news over at PC Home Taiwan : FIC is demonstrating its VIA KX-133 chipset based motherboard for Athlon, SK-11 today in a system with Athlon 800 Mhz. SK-11 will feature PC133 SDRAM support with 3 DIMM slots, with a maximum memory support of 1.5 GB. Other than that, SK11 will also feature AGP-4X, UDMA-66 and IEEE-1394 Firewire ports. FIC is expecting to start volume production of SK-11 in Feb and will start shipping in Feb or March.

******** End clip ********

Kind of explains why HP wasn't around for Athlon 800 launch. Assuming other manufacturers can't get their PC133 motherboards into volume sooner than SK-11, AMD would be losing an entire quarter worth of Athlon shipments to any vendors waiting for PC133 motherboards (Gateway, HP, Micron?). This may also significantly reduce possibility of any volume business SKUs for Q1.
