Alper,
I don't know what's going on. I lost my innocence a long time ago so I have to believe there're some very liquid entities putting money in with the expectation of real news. And I don't see the last few days as having been caused by momentum players; the trading was far too systematic and I think the momentum people are still on the sidelines. They'll jump in when there's major price movement and at that point, they alone could account for a fluctuation of 20-30%.
>Dream on. If LGND goes over 20 and stays there, I'll make >sure that you don't have to drink it all yourself. Let's >say, if LGND closes AT OR ABOVE 20 BY DEC. 31, 2000, >you'll throw the party at your place and I'll make sure >that I'll be there.
I'm still dreaming and you have a deal. I won't tell you to get your tickets since that might tempt the furies, but if the breast cancer trials with Targretin come out well, I think we'll see a gap up to $20 or above as soon as the news comes out. At that point, the remaining shorts would run for cover and the momentum players would show up in force and drive it even higher. I don't know where it would finally settle at, but LGND is definitely undervalued compared to its peers and a valuation of $20 or above would be entirely reasonable.
I'll provide the fireworks as well. Since I live exactly 1,000 feet above sea level, I can see the entire city from my living room and it's a perfect place to watch everyone else's fireworks from :-)
Cheers, Torben |
