CNBC 1/7/00 - 12:57:29 PM .....earnings afor the of 94. Bill: This sound like viewer like the stock do
you. I think he probably does. Well we have liked some the semiconductor equipment-type stocks alliance
is more of a memory play and we would be a little cautious in here as far as d-ram price anything memory
chip pricing. I might play a more value story like micron technology that is not small cap but certainly a little
more conservative. Bill: So you --. >> I would avoid alliance at this point and it has gone up through or
fold from its bottom when the chip prices really hit rock bottom. Bill: Got it tom quickly, question from rich
on compaq >> We really like compaq It is a company who new ceo although low profile has done all of the
right things. He has fixed distribution system simplified it. They are server business doing a lot better they
do dominate the nt space. We like compaq , we think the company has 1.75 To perhaps 2 dollars in
earnings power x even this got back 97 profitability it would be north of 2 dollars. So we have at least 35
dollar price target on it and we think they are going to have good quarter and good year ahead. Bill: There
you are. We will do some more spf 2000 coming up next half hour bill: Web-based software and services
provider intraware is attracting a lot of attention. Many of you have asked us to take a look at this
company. Today we talk with company ceo peter jackson. Also ahead: A box office year in review. .....

CNBC 1/7/00 - 1:51:40 PM .....making the telecommunications and the modem equipment and some of
the semiconductors, but i am very cautious of the service that's can be easily copieded. Bill: All right. Let's
see, a question from bill, not me, though, on sun microsystems, says keep hearing them mentioned with the
big guys but haven't moved toward their high of 83. >> They are a big guy, their stock has done
fantastically well over the last year and a half. We owned it once upon a time as value managers in the
middle of 1998, and had a double, almost a triple in it. Sold it aren't watched it double again. The problem
with sun microsystems is in the high 60s, it's trading at 70 times forward earnings, and you have all the
other players in the industry ganging up on it in terms of its unix work station business. Compaq going after
it, hewlett-packard, ibm, intel making chips for servers, to let these other guys compete against them. So
the expectations are very high for sun and it's likely that they may stumble and with this high valuation, it's
kind of a dangerous stock to own right now. Bill: All right. Let's see. I've got magic software, what is the
long and short of mgic? It does have the ties to the linux system which make it interesting. Question from
ron. >> Yes, i think it's a very interesting company, actually one that at the forefront of the linux operating
system and i think it's a good play, however .....
