I have been watching them for some time. I like the idea of the Ricochet modem because, like the web itself, is sort of self healing. I don't think it can compete with cable because of the data rate but I understand they are moving up in frequency and will get extra bandwidth. I tried to get the US Army to look at this type of system to track equipment in a battle but they wanted a satellite system instead so we built a prototype using Qualcomm OmniTrack system. Worked well over thousands of miles. We could control and monitor equipment in the field as it did its job. Thanks for reminding me of Ricochet.
