Elmer, it is extremely unlikely that Gateway did not order enough parts to meet their earnings and revenue projections. They knew that $1,000 to $1,3000 was 55% of their market and ordered accordingly.

Intel could not deliver that many low end PIII parts.

Further evidence: Gateway revenues were only 6% above last year. The percentage of revenues represented by the CPU, if anything, might have decreased slightly, which means that Intels revenues from Gateway went up little, if at all.
