Where are you getting the price of the option? It may not have traded for a few days or weeks. From ETrade. Here is a print of their screen data. That last trade was mine. CREE Jun $85 Call (CQRFQ) January 7, 2000 3:44 PM EST Real-time quote, AMEX Trade Quote Price 9 1/8 Change -3 1/2 Last Trade January 7, 2000 3:44 PM EST Bid 9 Ask 9 1/2 Open Interest 10 Premium 9 1/8 Volume 7 Day range 7 3/8 - 9 1/8 Prev. Close 12 5/8 Open 7 3/8 Days to Go 162 However I might buy some of the common rather than calls--unless I can get a sense of how it might trade over the next 4-6 months. On the other hand, those calls sound cheap. I picked up some common also, but wanted to leverage a bit with the calls as cheap as they were. Let me know if you look into it and learn anything. I will search for COMS.
