Tom, although I think Michael should speak out to calm the Shareholder's fears, we can't interpret his silence as apathy towards the Shareholders. I really believe that he is just doing what he should be, running the company. He said recently that "2000 would be the best year yet." He has not been one to just say what we want him to hear. I understand the frustration of seeing other companies doing really well, without having Dell's earnings. It is frustrating, I agree. The roller-coaster is not always fun! But the results and the numbers (in the earnings reports)speak for themselves. The proof will be the results. I am hanging in there. The Institutions are buying Dell for a reason.

One of the general managers with whom I work, e-mailed this to me this week. I am on his daily e-mail.

"I've learned that, The difference between a successful career and a mediocre one sometimes consists of leaving about four or five things a day unsaid."

What Michael has not said might be the biggest factor in Dell's future success. What does he have in store for the shareholders? Why should he tell us until he can? What would be the point? He is lining up his shots and he will talk when it is time. If you trust Dell Management, you can relax. They have been trustworthy so far, starting with Michael. That is just my opinion.:)
