Lola (and anyone else with Wave cable service): if you suddenly lose your connection (ie. seems you just don't get any response) but the cable modem lights are cool and things SHOULD be working... I had the same problem and after mucking around, found a work-around.

Select Run from the Start menu, enter "winipcfg" and [RETURN]. Select your network interface card (NIC) from the menu, then hit the "Release" button to release your IP address and hit "Renew" to get one again. Close the winipcfg window.

Sounds complicated but takes about 15 seconds. You MUST make sure you haven't got any browser or other connections trying to get somewhere at the time (ie. if you have to, hit the Stop button on your browser windows, though the CSW ticker doesn't seem to cause any problem) or you'll never get a new IP address.

Rogers has been giving me the run-around on this (they're sure I'm incompetent and simply can't set up the network parameters correctly even when I tell them I am responsible for a 300 person, 5 city WAN...) for like ever. And I know of at least two others that have the same problem and this works great for them.
