Martin it appears that investors would rather pay for taxes April 15, 2001 rather than April 15, 2000. So they waited to dump stocks that have run up quite well like AOL after the new year. Now when they must decide what to do with the cash positions that they are in, a decision to go back into the great tech names like AOL is being made, But....beware of the the "bear trap" which could occur typically if there is a "double top" formation. I personally don't believe that will happen. I believe the techs and NASDAQ will rise this year only about 20% at best. Nothing like last year. I hope I am wrong and it will rise more, but I believe growth will be muted to 20% and no more overall in the index.
