If EMC uses Data Gen NUMA for NAS will FC have a role ??
Any help on this......

The one constant seems to be the tiered access requirement of corporations regarding their data. The first part of the client/server era saw distributed computing and distributed storage. Now storage is being centralized while new fixed and mobile ways of distributing computing and networking resources are being developed.

EMC is the leading enterprise storage vendor because of a sublime, high-touch form of customer-centricity so its decision to use NUMA architecture and Data General's 64-processor architecture to consolidate the gains of Windows in the corporate market is worth watching. NAS is growing fast but at some point the same dynamics that are leading the way to the centralized management of corporate storage will come into play. Rather than SAN vs NAS, what we may see is the evolution of NAS to complement the SANs already in place. The architecture of future-proofed technology starts with EMC's Symmetrix.
