Under the promotion, current Citrix users can migrate to Tarantella by paying for just one Tarantella license for every ten existing MetaFrame licenses they replace with a Tarantella license.

The initial target for Tarantella will be large organizations that have heterogeneous application server environments. Customers that have standardized on Windows applications are not likely to look at Tarantella, as it provides no significant benefits over Terminal Server or MetaFrame in a pure Windows environment. However, for customers that require access to UNIX and/or mainframe applications in addition to Windows, Tarantella now provides a unique value proposition that is worth considering."
