Just visited the Ames Natick store.
This year. we have the same problems with AMES, not filling the store after a good X'mas. Of course, the customers will keep on coming for a while then the traffic will fall off. Revenue increase at AMES depended on the stores being densely packed, every day of the year. New merchandise will keep customers coming in to experience the cheaper by the bagful shopping. Price point are lower for January; but I feel AMES using the old formula of trends in retail, is cheating themselves out of one month in another prosperous year yet to come. We are still anticipating a great year and good stock appreciation. $100 here we come.
