<<As an aside.... I had a few shares sitting with Investorline from months and months ago. Haven't even logged in there since last summer. I did sell
them today at $9.70 however. Anyhow, I couldn't believe how impossible it was there. It took longer to bring up the order entry screen than to put
through a whole transaction with Greenline. Sometimes I complain about Greenline but man.... it is no wonder they're doing so well... there's not
much competition for them.>>

I'm surprised to hear you say that about Investorline. With all of the complaints I have heard about the other discount brokers taking 15 minutes, etc. to do orders through the web... I have found Investorline to be decent. Getting through by phone is still a long wait, but orders I submit online tend to take about 1 minute to be filled on average. They still have the occassional bad moment when it takes 5 or more minutes... but those occassions have been few and far between lately! The website itself can be a little slow to enter a trade... too many screens to go through, etc.... not built properly for efficiency and speed... but only takes maybe 30 seconds to enter a trade? (I hate having to type in my phone number EVERY time)
I should also point out that I have been doing mostly market trades lately... so that probably is contributing to the faster trade execution of under a minute. I think they give market orders priority or something?
