That snake of old told Eve ( she was still called Adam at the time and had not yet fallen into "independent" thinking so-called. ) that she could eat and not die.
Anyone who studies spiritual warfare soon discovers that the most intricate principles of the war are contained within the second chapter of Genesis while it appears to be such a "simple" little "TALE" so-called .

God would have been Just to cast Adam and Eve into Hell IMMEDIATELY but that was not His Glorious Plan :-}
God also desired to show Himself forth to fallen man a merciful and loving God.

God planned not only the "free act of Adam fall" but also His Own FREE ACT of REDEMPTION in CHRIST !
God planned the death of His Son Jesus as a "substitutionary death" before the world began or Adam sinned.
