Don't worry Katz, part of the no-rulz is that you can demand that there be some.
Anyway, I take a holistic approach to investing, so if somebody can see a link to Qualcomm, even if it seems tenuous, such as kidnapping of children from their parent in another country on some spurious pretext such as, "the USA is such a great country that children are better separated from their parents" so they can have lots of Bicycles, drive around in cars, eat Big Macs, candy by the aisle, watch "Kop Killers" on TV and wear Nike's so they can fly up to Space Ships attending visiting comets such as Hale Bopp, which will certainly come around again to collect some more intergalactic travellers, then I'm happy to have somebody find it and report it here. [If that sentence wasn't too long for the average sound bite on tv I'd be surprised].
While the USA and some rabid refugees from another country is prepared to kidnap some child and take a month or two to figure out where he belongs, it doesn't augur well for harmonious deployment of CDMA around the world. It's a bit like bombing the embassy or house of a potential customer. Some things are a little more valuable that the ability to make really efficient phone calls.
Sure, it's fair enough to figure out where a child belongs, but it doesn't take a month to find the father [who has quite loudly enough said where he is] and confirm that he isn't some kind of barbarian from whom the child should be protected. 24 hours should be just about enough. A good night's sleep for the child, fly the Dad over to where the child is if he hasn't got enough money and the political situation is important enough. Give them both a couple of days together, perhaps with the 'authorities' who are supposed to be expert in figuring out whether a father is a danger or not. Then ship them both home.
Pretty simple really and a lot cheaper than the hoopla that's been and now the rioting that's going on with many apparently committing crimes because they are so concerned about the boy.
Maybe some of the concerned people are uncles and aunts [not just in name either]. Too bad. Fathers beat uncles [and aunts] in my book. [Not literally, and one should ensure they don't beat wives and children].
The Qualcomm point is that until we get some decent civilization around the world, huge expenditure and human energy will go on this sort of nonsense instead of CDMA communication systems.
