I might get shot for this but I have moved some funds to Datek and have been fiddlin with them for a few weeks now

there are tons of horror stories around on them but so far i am very pleased

there is some custom built software around that creates a much better Datek environment then their standard web site
I'm very pleased with the two I have used so far

I still have 95% of my funds at Fidelity (been there for 10 years plus and have traded full time with them for about 6 years) and will likely keep all my various tax deferred accounts with them unless they mess up big time
actually for position trades Fidelity is just fine
and for day trading longs during normal hours they are excellent
I just think they are falling begind others
and, they do not really have an interest in type A traders like myself

I'm using Datek for just fast few seconds to few minutes trades and for pre and post market trading

all the above is just from the perspective of someone who does 10-30 trades a day; and tends to be rather harsh on any outfit that has my money
and, one who does not think a "perfect" broker will ever exist
