i've emerged from our northern georgia den to find the world still running, my kids still racking up debt and paying mortgages, and a notice in my private eMail box from a virus alert program i trust speaking of 7 new virulent "viruses in the wild" set loose over the time i've been disciplined and stayed off the internet like i stated in advance i would be doing.
for those who are curious about the latest viruses on the loose information, i scrubbed my harddrive with the HOUSECALL virus scanner program on the net and am now a subscriber to their valuable service. got a clean bill of health and am grateful. and i got my clean bill of health three hours before the end of the last century.
here are the viruses according to the latest report: Y2K Special Issue Preview: (7 new viruses reported in-the-wild)
  1. PE_CRYPTO 2. W97M_CHANTAL.B 3. VBS_KAKWORM.A 4. PE_LOVESONG.998 5. TROJ_WINKILL 6. VBS_TUNE 7. VBS_LUCKY2000
looks like i get to still chop wood and haul water, something i've rather learned to enjoy doing out here with just me and Janelle to worry about. maybe i'll get back to the options game, i haven't decided. i do like sleeping in and looking at something besides a jelly screen for several hours. besides the options game isn't something one just jumps back into after several months of being out of the game. good way to lose big money fast.
however, with communications staying up for which Janelle and i are most grateful, and me not facing jail time for perforating a few unfriendlies, i think i'll investigate some new wireless hardware and see if i can't upgrade my toys before hopping back into the investment game.
hope you fared well over the year end, yogi, and we wish you all the best in this new year, decade, century and millenium. |
