Reports are a tradition, though. it's just corporate policy to make these reports.

Do they have anything to do with the fundamental value of the company? i doubt there's a long-term effect, but quite possibly there's a short-term effect.

It is odd that suddenly Lucent is "bad to own". But, the AIM method does buy low using the cash that was attained from selling shares that appeared overpriced.

I don't have any real advice here, since I'm more a market index trader -- but Tom was buying some Lucent on the dropdown, i believe (correct me if I'm wrong, Tom).

I'vw switched into an S&P500 clone (FFIDX) from my previous NASDAQ clone FDEGX. SPY is a similar play. I think lots of money will flow into this year's January market from pension funds, profit sharing, etc.

After January, I'll have to evaluate the daily situation.
