bearcub,
Nice to have you back. On Jan 31st as the new year was ringing in, and my confidence was improving, minute by minute, we had a great party.

Saturday morning I felt elation similar to what I experienced when I came home from my 1969 vacation in Viet Nam. Little things meant so much. A long hot shower, flush toilets, good refrigerated food, solid stock market gains, a family, magnificent and intact, and no anti-aircraft fire! Unless you've experience that last part, you groundpounders haven't lived. (ggg)

In retirement, every night is Friday night and every morning is Saturday morning. I have no deadlines but those imposed by the IRS. Reminder: We independent types have a quarterly tax payment due on Jan 18.

I thought a good Y2K shakedown would have had one really positive effect: imploding the federal tax code. Too bad.

Bill
