I have a general question for the thread..

How many of you are gaining a reputation as a "stock guru" because of your history in purchasing QOCM and how many of you feel responsible for the wealth of friends and family simply due to the fact that people keep asking your advice regarding stocks and QCOM in particular?

I am starting to get two to three calls a week from people who are thinking about buying QCOM. I explain the QCOM story to them and tell them that I'm still heavily invested, that I'm not selling anything for at least 4 years, and that they should do their own DD. Invariably they ask about some "hot" stock that is also in the headlines. But, most understand that this is no ".com" kind of stock. They seem to understand that the 1200% gains are behind us but that this company has long-term growth potential. So, they are passing on the other stocks and investing in QCOM for the long term.

Many of these folds see last week as a buying opportunity. Those of us who saw tremendous paper losses last week were more freaked than the new batch of investors who are chomping at the bit to get into QCOM.

This reminds me of a true story I heard about a shoe shine guy at a country club who bought CSCO several years ago. He never sold a share. Stuck through all the ups and downs. He retired from his job with $2.5 million.

Think about that. How many friends and neighbors do you know who are always talking about stocks and buying and selling? How many of them are millionaires?
