Comment on cell coverage/G*:

I made a call yesterday to a person who has his GSM "WorldPhone" permanently attached to his head. The ring was different than normal. I asked when he answered, "Where are you?" He answered that he was in upstate NY on a vacation. He added that his cell was forwarded to his G* phone, which was sitting on a ledge by the window in his hotel. There was no cellular coverage there. There WAS G* coverage. For someone that lives and dies by the phone, there is a solution.

Ubiquitous cell coverage is a Eurocentric myth. I ask any of those making these comments, including the fools at Herschel Schostek, to travel across the US sometime. New York City is not the US. Properly marketed, G* can succeed even in the US. I have problems with management and with financial/execution issues that stop me from investing here, but the market is there. It is definitely there.
