Re: THCG's ASP deal, taking 33% stake in an "Total Solution Provider / Application Service Provider (TSP/ASP) company". This really grabbed my attention, because I've long been a bit of an ASP freak.
biz.yahoo.com
So I read the PR with great interest, ready to go the ASP website for more info. Unfortunately, only a telephone contact for IT Utility CEO Michael Lowry was listed, I didn't feel like pestering him for more info. So I did some hunting on my own...
I did a search of domain-name records. And, indeed, there is an ITUtility.com listed under Mr. Lowry's name, but the site is not online.
Also, based on these searches, there is a possible link (I dunno, maybe they're business partners) between these domains: itutility.com, aiyee.com, lightmedia.com, nextv.net, klics.com, and buylinc.com. Unfortunately, all of these links (except for one) brings up no functional websites, so the trail leads to a dead end there. But there is some info about Lightmedia Interactive (more below)...
Everytime I conducted a search, it brought up new, interesting information that I added to further searches. What I found about lightmedia.com was interesting. Here are a few search results:

So this guy, Michael Lowry, CEO of IT Utility, literally lives 10 miles from my last apartment. Too bad I just moved to Chicago.
As for Lightmedia Interactive, it appears to be a software developer for utility service providers. Larry Silverman is the CEO, his name pops up on most of these domain records.
Ironically, the only detailed info on Lightmedia I could find was at a Japanese website (though mostly in English text): linda.infomart.or.jp
More info on Lightmedia (which Hoovers says is a private company in Pennsylvania with between $1M - $2.5M in annual sales). The company also has an Atlanta branch, which is roughly within 15 miles from Mike Lowry's given address. So perhaps he is a former/current Lightmedia employee?

Utilities can also become Internet access providers, according to Larry Silverman, chief executive officer of LightMedia Interactive , Upper Darby, Pa. In that way, customers would enter the Internet through a utility's homepage, where the power company could market other products and services, he says. Utilities can also ``broadcast' information while focusing on data that specific customers have requested--to avoid the negative connotations of ``junk' mail.
