In order for you to get a free modem, they want you to come up with ten more email addresses and thus sign up 10 more guys for the service. If you can swing that, you may save a bundle. Assuming this works mathematically - if 10000 guys get it free and they sign up 100000 guys, who in turn sign up 1000000 guys, it will be a neat trick!
