Thanks bdog: That equis site is usually one of my first places to look. Since I posted my question, I looked ahead in my current reading (Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by Murphy), and in-a-way answered one of my questions. Notice that while the trending portions were captured well, the system whipsawed constantly during the sideways, nontrending periods. There are some good examples of charts given. Cush
