Roman Caudillo, Suzanne's boyfriend, took the train to New York-- with a friend. While this doesn't make a boyfriend scenario less possible, it does, IMO, make it less probable. Early news reports say the police have ruled him out as a suspect. I presume he has an alibi.

Far as I know, Suzanne lived alone in her apartment-- which just happened to be above a police substation.
