Darrell, << GSM is not really a technology, it is rather a platform >> Not to nitpick but while classically GSM is a standard (maintained by ETSI), or a platform as you refer to it, it is also a technology, or at least "GSM technology" has become acceptable usage and is frequently used. Rather rhan point to a myriad of links that describe GSM as a technology I'll point to just one.
