Travel "agencies" probably don't use the term "African tundra." Not that some aren't dumb enough to do that -- it's just that nearly all travel literature and ad copy is produced by travel "suppliers" -- airlines, resorts, cruise lines, tour companies and a few huge companies like AMEX and AAA. Not to mention various countries and cities. Not to argue, Joan. Just speaking up on behalf of thousands of independent travel people who make a living from satisfied clients and referrals. The airlines are working hard to kill us off. If they succeed, you will be left with, "If you want to go to Africa, press six, followed by the pound key." The airlines are evil, Joan. Sometimes you can save a buck buying travel on line (mostly last minute weekend air) -- You can also save money by changing your own oil. Hope your next trip is a great one! M
