According to SmartPortfolio.com VerticalNet will split soon. Since the earnings date will be posted this week,I hope we will hear some annoucement regarding a split in the near future.
I'll post a copy of the section on VerticalNet from their newsletter below.
This will create a big run-up in the stock. It's one of the few big successful b2b companies that didn't split in the fall-winter.

VerticalNet (Nasdaq:VERT). This stock last announced a 2:1 stock
split on August 23, 1999 when the shares were trading at 70 11/16.
The stock closed at 141 3/8. While the split history for
VerticalNet is limited, we think that the company could announce a
3:1 split since it split its shares 2:1 at the 70 level, which is
approximately half of 141 3/8. We think this split could come at
any time, but should come prior to their next earnings
announcement. We are unaware of the VericalNet earnings date, but
last year's fourth quarter earnings were announced on March 2,
1999.
