Lizzie, Abercrombie and Kent "service" the high dollar crowd. My sweetie took her mom and big bro to Kenya a couple of years ago -- stayed at all the same deluxe spots as A&C at a fraction of the cost.

To my knowledge A&C not owned by an airline. I would call them more a tour supplier v. a travel agency.

FWIW, British Air has some great Africa packages. Most major airlines have "Vacation" businesses that are run separately from the regular business. Even Delta Vacations is pretty decent compared to Delta Airlines, from my POV, THE wicked step-mother of the industry (disclaimer: I have a brother-in-law and brother who fly for Delta).

A&C have many small-time imitators in the booming active and outdoor market. No problem finding guided land-only walking or cycling trips in Europe for $300 - $400 a day (dbl occ in fairly "basic" accommodations.

If you're traveling with a friend, you can do the same things for half the money, or less. Not to mention, you have complete control of the itinerary.

Didn't mean to carry on. I enjoy travel talk.

Mike
