Please consider this as a desperate cry for help from one non-technical computer user! <ggg> I have an off the shelf IBM Aptiva E86, 300MHz Pentium II I have upgraded to Windows 98 64 mgs SyncDRAM (which I just upgraded to 128) 8 GB Hard Drive DVD ROM with Software Movie Playback 512KB L2 Pipline Burst Cache 56 K Flex Modem (recently upgraded to Cable with an ethernet card) 4 MB SyncGraphis Memory 2 Universal Serial Bus Ports ATI Rage Pro video card (on the motherboard) with Direct 3D 17" IBM G70 monitor I just added two new 17 Monitors (3 Monitors in total), and I installed two ATI xpert98 video cards to run the added monitors. After installing this new hardware, everything was running smoothly. I loved having the added real estate and with the Cable connection I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Here's my problem . . . I know finding that at times my cursor (not the mouse), seems to stick and jump around when I have multi windows open. The System monitor also shows that the kernel processor usage will spike to 100% when I open my mail. I also recently did a disc defrag and it took 17 hours to complete. It was hell. I also just down loaded an upgraded version of Virus Scan. Can anyone suggest what could be causing this problem, what course of action (diagnostic or otherwise) I should be taking, etc. Needless to say, this is causing me a significant degree of frustration right now. By the way, if this is not the proper thread to be discussing this, I would appreciate being directed to a more appropriate one. Thanks in advance for any assistance I receive. Crazy Canuk
