Those using WCDMA will pay QCOM royalties. The issue is how much. Gilder uses the term "requisite royalties." This is very vague (I assume it is intentionally vague, because he doesn't know either.) Perhaps after the WCDMA systems are operational, we will be able to determine the amount of the royalties. I wouldn't rule out litigation on this issue...
