Chuck <Gateway management said they typically do 55% of their business at this price point [$1,299]. Would be nice if AMD, as a second source, gets 30-40% of that biz.>

I decided to estimate the number of systems involved. Yahoo reports trailing annual sales by GTW of $8.5B, assume 55% is of sales not systems, then this point represents about 3.6M systems per year. Some assumptions here but I was curious about the overall magnitude of GTW potential business for AMD. Say 30% is Athlon then this would be about 270,000 processors per quarter. This would be a nice gain for AMD (25% of estimated Q4) but perhaps not a real challenge assuming continued successful expansion of total supply and normal slowing of demand from Q4 to Q1.
