NSATF in Korea......From The Motley Fool Message boards....

This article is evidence of Korea Telecom's commitment to building out a massive Internet infrastructure throughout South Korea. As Korea Telecom's chosen supplier of ODUs for their Ka-band satellite broadband initiative, Norsat should reap substantial benefits from this infrastructure buildout.

Korea Telecom, IBM in Internet alliance

SEOUL, Jan 10 (Reuters) - South Korea's state-run Korea Telecom Co said on Monday it had formed a strategic alliance with International Business Machines Corp (IBM) to cooperate in Internet-related business.

IBM will provide help in terms of software, hardware and other technical resources required for Korea Telecom's expanded Internet business operations but did not disclose financial terms, a Korea Telecom official said.

The Korean telecommunications giant said in a statement the alliance would help it in building a mammoth Internet data centre in Seoul for completion by 2003.

By the same time, Korea Telecom plans to build a network of Internet data centres in the country's six other major cities, including Pusan, Kwangju, Taegu and Taejon.

The data centres are to provide customer service related to Internet use, the company said.
